Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS "PERMANENT MAKEUP"?
Permanent makeup is a cosmetic tatooing process where pigments developed specifically for cosmetic application are implanted beneath your top two layers of skin by micro insertion. This technique has been medically developed and specifically designed for safe application for your most sensitive and delicate skin areas.
IS PERMANENT MAKEUP RIGHT FOR ME?
Permanent makeup can be the right choice for anyone with a desire to subtly enhance his or her appearance. Whether you are looking to make a fashionable change to your look, wish to save time, are sensitive or allergic to makeup, or lack the ability to put on makeup yourself, permanent makeup might be a great solution for you.
DOES IT HURT?
For the most part, permanent makeup is a relatively painless procedure. Much depends on how sensitive you are to pain; most clients report that it feels similar to a slight 'pricking' sensation. Topical anesthetics are always used, in order to make any potential discomfort as limited as possible.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
Times vary according to the individual's sensitivity, and the overall condition of your skin. Most procedures can be performed in a roughly two hours. Some particularly detailed procedures can take a bit longer. In most cases, this can be accomplished in one visit. After the initial treatment, some clients schedule a follow-up appointment, but this usually doesn't require as much time as the initial visit.
IS IT VERY EXPENSIVE?
Each procedure is different, and the cost will vary depending on what services you would like done. As a guideline, there are many services that can achieve terrific results for under 500.00. Your first follow up visit to the initial procedure is included in the original cost (in case you might need or desire a slight 'touch up'.)
One thing to consider: there is a great deal of cost-saving involved when you think about the money you save on certain cosmetics and the time you need to apply them!
DO YOU HAVE EXAMPLES OF OTHER PEOPLE WHO'VE HAD THIS DONE?
Great question! We would happily share with you 'before' and 'after' pictures of some of our clients. Contact us to schedule a consultation and we can review results of other procedures performed by Terry Mestrovich.
IS PERMANENT MAKEUP TRULY PERMANENT?
A variety of factors influence the longevity of permanent makeup, such as skin type, whether or not you smoke, and ultra-violet exposure. It is important for you to use products with an SPF to greatly prolong the vividness of your procedure.
